Keeping in mind the religious sentiment and devotions of the Yatris, a system of prayers has been introduced by the Shrine Board. This new Poojan system accommodates the religious sentiments associated with the pilgrimage and is in line with the system being followed at some other revered places of worship.

There are two types of prayer system offered at Vaishno Devi shrine:

1. Individual Poojan
2. Shraddha Suman Vishesh Pooja

Individual Poojan
Under this Poojan scheme, every morning a Hawan or Pooja is performed in the Yagya-shalla. Desirous devotees are allowed to participate in this Hawan and their name(s), gotra etc. are then chanted along with the prayers offered for the welfare and prosperity of them and their families.

In addition to that, those who are unable to attend or partake in Vaishno Devi Yatra can also have pooja performed in their name. They need not have to be physically present. The Poojan is performed in their name and the Prashad is sent to him by post.

The details of individual poojan are as follows:

Category A (Devotees need NOT be physically present)

Cost: Rs. 1100

Under this category, Poojan is performed in the name of the person(s) for/by whom Pooja has been registered even while the devotee(s) is not present in the Pooja. A maximum of five names from a family can be given for the purpose. These are then chanted during the course of Poojan. The Prashadam is sent through courier to the given address.

Poojan can be booked for any day and facility remains open for whole of the year. Advance booking is allowed for this category of Poojan. Spot booking is also allowed subject to availability of slots

Category B (Devotees need to be present)

Cost: Rs. 5100

Under this category, the devotee has to be physically present in the Poojan. He/she can attend the Poojan himself/herself along with a maximum of four (total five) of his/her family members. Advance booking is allowed for this category of Poojan. Spot booking is also allowed subject to availability of slots.

Please keep in mind that the desired devotees need to reach Room No. 8 at Mata ka Bhawan before 8 AM. If devotees fail to reach there in time, they will forfeit their claim.

Shraddha Suman Vishesh Pooja
Due to the growing demand and religious sentiments of the pilgrims, the Shrine Board has started Shraddha Suman Vishesh Pooja which includes the exclusive privileges to attend the Aarti Darshan of the Goddess Vaishno Devi which is otherwise not witnessed by the yatris.

The details of this poojan are as follows:

Category A
Cost: Rs. 16,000

No. of Persons Allowed:  1

Facilities Entitled under the Package:

• Aarti Darshan for one Person.
• One two bedded AC Room in Niharika free of cost.
• One two bedded room at Bhavan free of cost.
• Maximum of three meals for one person free to cost at Katra/Bhavan.
• Prashad.

Category B
Cost: Rs. 31,000

No. of Persons Allowed:  2

Facilities Entitled under the Package:

• Aarti Darshan for 2 people.
• One two bedded AC Room in Niharika free of cost.
• One two bedded room at Bhavan free of cost.
• Maximum of three meals for two people free to cost at Katra/Bhavan.
• Prashad.

Category C
Cost: Rs. 46,000

No. of Persons Allowed:  3

Facilities Entitled under the Package:

• Aarti Darshan for 3 people.
• One four bedded AC Room in Niharika free of cost.
• One four bedded room at Bhavan free of cost.
• Maximum of three meals for three people free to cost at Katra/Bhavan.
• Prashad.

Category D
Cost: Rs. 75,000

No. of Persons Allowed:  5

Facilities Entitled under the Package:

• Aarti Darshan for 5 people.
• One four bedded AC Room and one two bedded AC Room in Niharika free of cost.
• One four bedded room and two bedded room at Bhavan free of cost.
• Maximum of three meals for five people free of cost at Katra/Bhavan.
• Prashad.

NOTE:

1. More than five persons shall not be allowed under this poojan unless they are all members of the same family for which special and prior permission of the Board authorities is required.
2. This poojan can be booked in advance. However, spot booking is also available subject to the availability of slots.
3. A maximum of two children (below ten years of age) will be accommodated free under B, C and D categories. One child (below ten years of age) will be accommodated free under category A.
4. On the occasion/festivals/Navraatris, additional Rs.21,000/- per devotee will be charged.
